Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

She was bit unsettled how.. Open it was. Born within forests, raised as so, Vermillion was used to the lush covering and the sunlight blending in rather the constantly upon her back. There was the scattering of trees here and there, bushes as well ; but overall Greenwood was a place within the plains where if she looked, she could see another wolf. Although what was interesting about the area that confused her, was the rocks around so. They stood high, some in a circle-like pattern or otherwise in zigzags, it didn't seem there was a pattern.

The Princess was gazing up on one, there was no indication to climb on it in anyway.. Although it reminded her of @Mooksgm’ol claws, it was like a bear was buried and their claws stood tall.

the boy prowled from shade to shade, seeking a deep one where the heat wouldn't dry him to nothing.

the rocks seemed promising, and so @Anai's charge came nearer them, to circle to the soft spot where, unbeknownst to him, his brother had been once found.

there was a woman. the boy followed her gaze, and looked at the stone plinths she seemed to enamored by.

they were just boring rocks to him. in his words he implied as much.

"what's so interesting about them?" the boy questioned with a swish of his tail.

Vermillion turned to the voice and stared at him with her ruby-eyes, blinking for a moment without a word. He was.. Much different then any wolf she has ever seen ; and the young Deorwine has never been told about what dogs look like, but has vaguely heard of them so by others. Especially when it came to cross-breeding, as she knew generally wolves can mingle with coyotes and these supposed-dogs ; but the thought of one didn't appear in her mind and she only saw a strange individual.

.. It reminded her something like herself — as she was judging his apperance, Vermillion was judged for the white and gray upon her pelt. She was embarassed looking at him, and turned away, "oh, uhmmm.. I lived in forests, I never seen rocks like these.."
