@Tiberius @Olive

Her sides bled, the bear had grabbed her and bite down — and though it could be worse, she stilled dripped with each step. A distance between herself and the everfrost were the assumed monster laid, and she only ran north and north until — her nose caught the smell of something familiar. The only motion that could bring her forth as she continued with a hurting side and exhausted limbs until finally ;

did Rin collapse infront of the vale.

set for after prev thread

It hadn't been long, the time that they had come to the Vale. Tiberius had brought them to the North, back to his beloved Tundra and brought them to the looming trees that formed a wooden guard in the middle of crescent ridges. He had found it with @Vendrussel and he had known then that it would be the place he would bring Olive and the rest to, to make it their home. He had held no doubt in his mind that @Olive would think the same as he when he had seen it, that it was right. It was to be theirs.

He should have known they would experience a welcoming gift out of the ordinary. Tiberius was scouring the borders, checking really the depths of the natural guard that the mountains and woodland held and really... it was a lot. They shrouded them in mystery and he was beginning to see twisting paths that only those of Duskguard would learn. Yet... that was not his welcoming gift.

It came in the form of Rin, once silvery and white, now shrouded with crimson. Most notably were the gruesome bite marks by her ribs, stark against the pale colouring of her fur. Tiberius stared at her with furrowed brows as he stepped closer, sniffing at her to get past the scent of her blood to try and determine the fuck had happened to her, "Rin," the titan rumbled as he dipped his head down to her side, noting that this was more @Olive's expertise than his own.

"Fuckin' 'ell girl," he grunted, frowning down at her. He looked at the wound and swore beneath his breath, sending up a short call for @Olive. ^^

Familiarity bred comfort — thought she didn't know Tiberius well, it was someone that could help her ; just maybe. Maybe enough where she could at least rest without the fret of it returning, or the likewise worry if she was so vulnerable, those nice wolves she thought was around the tundra would twist to a fearsome. Anxiety ran it's course as her imagination went wild, weak gray eyes looking up at the figure — calling for someone.

The scents of other upon his pelt and the low claim around the area, which dragged her to the very vale. She heaved, lightly, her collapsed form pushing herself up as the blood dripped to the snow's floor, "bear."

Bear.

The only bear he knew that wandered these snowy lands was @Thraximundar and he had confidence that this was not the work of him. Tiberius felt a small growl rumble from his throat as he cast his molten gaze over in a quick scan, as if seeking the form of a bear in the distance. It had not come to finish her off yet it was risky, remaining out here when they could be shrouded in the cover of the Vale.

Tight-lipped he would nod, "I's called fer Olive. She will tend ta yer where she can 'fore we bring yer inta tha Vale," he would divulge as he shifted his head towards the bleeding wounds upon her ribs. "Looks like yer gonn' be stuck wit' us fer a while," Tiberius' tone held no room for complaint -- but really, how could she? She was at his door step, bleeding and in need of help. Any option he put forth was one she would be stupid to try and deny.

Tiberius drew his tongue along her wound, eyeing if it welled once more and when it did, he would shift so he would put pressure on with a silver paw as if to keep it at minimum until Olive arrived. It was the extent of his goddamn knowledge. ^^

Relief to hear not only she would not be turned away so easily, but a healer, was among their ranks. Olive was a familiar one, not one she had seen since the roaming of the other mountain, but someone nonetheless. A pair within the vale, with a lingering scent of something stirring in the midst and she couldn't help but muse silently, at the thought of them forming a pack and she — being a bloody present upon their door.

"I will repay you." And she fell back onto the floor, pain searing so as it was the first — the first time being this hurt since arriving to the land, "Je me demande parfois si j'ai de la chance ou de la malchance.." For coming without memories, settling into routine and adjustments and finally ; a bear. Yet safety of familarity and no heartaches from lost memories.. Rin felt..

She was always lost, without a purpose.

They had only been settled in the Vale for a matter of days before the responsibilities of packhood swung like a heavy anvil on their doorstep. It shocked Olive how she knew nothing of Rin's sudden appearance, battered and bloodied, until she heard Tiberius's call. The vale truly was the aegis Tiberius had made it out to be, with its high, inaccessible spires; but the short, sharp, instructive call of Tiberius immediately had her on alert, and she scurried to the borderland quickly, eager to assist the man in whatever thing he could possibly ask of her.

It was the demure, wordless woman from the north — Rin, she recalled easily — it was her blood that pooled in the snow, melting grotesque miniature lakes and rivers. "Goodness, Rin," Olive gasped as she approached, choking on the gag that rose from deep in her throat. It wasn't like her to be turned in the face the blood and gore (she was a healer, after all) — but the fetuses wanted none of it. Powering through the revulsion, Olive pressed forward and laid her attention on the bleeding wounds, which pulsed beneath Tiberius's massive paws. "We must stop this bleeding, then we can move her inside the Vale," she spoke, unknowingly echoing Tiberius's words.

Her heart rate elevated, but not out of control, Olive looked up at Tiberius. Her eyes were clear, and full of intention, communicating to him without words. The shaman-woman looked deep within his own goldenrod eyes for only a second before again flitting down towards Rin's injuries, bringing her slender paw up to meet his, which splayed out like a star, attempting to hold the wound closed. "Stay and try to press the wound closed, like this..." as gently as she could, Olive eased a flap of skin closed, pressing the flesh together where it was just been cleaved. This skin itself might be saved yet, and reattach on its own; and it kept more grime from entering it.

She glanced at Rin, then back to Tiberius, already sporting crimson-red socks. "and help her breath, it'll slow her heart rate. The blood will come less quickly." She nodded, knowing there was no magic pill to stop bleeding —  but she knew of something that came close. "I must get something." The woman looked for consent and compliance from her Chieftain, before she darted off, to return in hopefully just a moment's time.

Olive bled from the Vale not too shortly after Tiberius had called for her, his Angel coming to rush towards the injured woman beneath his paws and he felt relief course through his veins. Tiberius was... he had a basic, so very basic knowledge of healing and his skilled laid elsewhere. Not Olive, though. One of her main abilities was the art of Healing, vast as her knowledge was she seemed to be an expert in this particular field and he was happy for it. Especially given the fact he had Rin's blood pooling beneath his paw, begging to be released from his momentary cage.

He would nod shortly and sharply, happy to let her take point on this. His molten gaze focused on her for perhaps a moment too long after her own gaze left his, swooping down to where his paw sat upon Rin to keep the bleeding at minimum. Tiberius let his own gaze slide down to where Olive's paw met his own and he adjusted his paws to do as she said, trying to cleave together the ripped flesh. It was not the first deep wound that he had seen and he was certain it wouldn't be the last but did it feel strange beneath his pads? A little.

"Aye," he rumbled, glancing down to Rin as he wondered how reassuring he could be. Tiberius turned his gaze back to Olive with a nod, "go, Angel. I's git 'er fer now." Whatever she needed, it would be used to aid Rin. "Yer 'eard 'er, Rin. Breathe slower, yeah? Yer ain't gittin' rid o'us tha' easy," he could do no more to physically aid her other than keep his paws upon her wounds to slow the bleeding as Olive had instructed, but his molten gaze was hard and flecked with worry.

Would they ever catch a break? ^^

When Olive disappeared back into Frostfang, she allowed herself to become affected by the grisly scene. The first thing she did when out of view and earshot was vomit — but she promptly continued, letting small tears prick at the corner of her eyes and wet the tops of her cheeks. It was strange to see Rin so blighted, as Olive thought her to be the most demure and sweet of creatures. It was almost more strange to see Tiberius distressed, and she felt a pang of empathy and connectedness, as she always did when her lover was experiencing some sort turmoil. Mostly, she felt concern about the bear, as the Ursine were known to not only disregard wolven law, but often acted in defiance of it.

Admittedly, Olive lost herself in her movement, easily distracted by these anxieties. She was only brought too again when a scent drifted across her nose, catching her skilled healer’s mind easily. The waif hadn’t been certain of what she was looking for, but in this moment where Olive really had no idea how to proceed, she considered this a godsend. It wasn’t perfect, but it would do for now. She followed her nose to one (of many) coniferous trees — but this particular one had a branch fallen, and the sap oozed from the arborial wound in a way that was beautiful, in the same way flesh wounds were grotesque,

and from the fallen branch, she gathered moss. She dabbed the moss into the sap, scraping up as much as she could — and then Olive was off, racing back towards Rin and Tiberius, feeling the moments tick away and, not eager to see her friends in such pain. Thus was the life of a healer, and even as emotional and uneasy as she was feeling, she would see this through.

Olive darted back to where Tiberius applied pressure to the silvered femme’s wounds. She appreciated how Tiberius had done was she instructed and calmed the flutter of Rin’s breath into something more manageable, though its effect on the bleeding itself had yet to be seen. Olive nodded wordlessly, ushering Tiberius off of the wound so she might be able to observe it better and apply her medicines topically. The woman glanced from the canyons and craters in Rin’s muscle, up to Tiberius, then to Rin. She advised,
“Okay, Rin, this will probably hurt.” and gave the woman a moment to steel herself. Olive tried to communicate telepathically to Tiberius to hold the woman down should she writhe, or turn fangs upon her doctor. Wolves in pain were known to do far worse things.

As quickly as she could, Olive worked to apply the moss, pressing the side with the tree sap to the flesh. The moss was important as a vehicle and as a bandage, but seeing as the sap’s antiseptic properties were most valuable, she did her best to spread the medicine across the entire wound. Having done so, Olive stepped back to observe her work. It was crude, but it might make the difference between life or death when it came to sepsis.

Before they could move her, Olive wished to know if Rin was in shock. Olive came to face the woman directly.
“Listen — do you feel cold? Have you lost consciousness?” she spoke bluntly, since if Rin was in shock, she would have trouble with her cognition too.

What was happening was a more or less a blurr. Pain upon her side as one attended and pressed her wounds, and the sounds of warmth in another and the waiting of so. But she listened diligently, believing her survival was within the paws of the other but ah ; did not think it was truly serious enough but.. It stung, it hurt — she hadn't felt really much since coming to the realm, just a lost feeling, a wanting and.. Nothingness.

Although despite the reassurances, the asking of so — by that point, Rin had fainted.

Almost as if on cue, the silvered woman lost consciousness. Olive’s immediate reaction was shock and concern — perhaps this did indeed mean Rin was suffering from shock — but the healer in her realized that often was the case where patients would become worse, before they became better. At this point, Rin was no different than any other broken body that she had treated before this moment. It was a job to be done, and it was all mechanical, and Olive knew it well.

A small plus was that an unconscious mind could not perceive pain (as far as Olive knew). This was an opportune moment to do more work upon the wounds, perhaps clean them out in a better way, or apply more sophisticated medicines. First, before any of this could be done, Rin needed to be moved to safety. Not that a bear ever respected lupine law — the Priestess was all-too-aware that there was a violent creature prowling about — but the mountains provided protection, and an aegis where they could heal & be healed.

Olive looked up towards Tiberius, appreciative to have his muscle available at this moment.
“This is our best chance to move her with the least amount of duress,” she explained with a heaving sigh. Even though Rin couldn’t feel it, the sylph was profoundly uncomfortable as she helped load the limp and bleeding body upon her partner’s shoulders. The risk of injuring her more was unlikely, but it was strange to think of pain as something solely of the mind — there was nothing inherently painful about the flesh wound, as they jostled her and loaded her aboard.

With careful balance, the two carried the first member of Duskguard deep into the comfort of the vale, and began treatment.
