Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

@Hotaru, @Antares, @Gyrfalcon, @Ceridwen, @Won, @Wylthrose.   |  The maybe participants: @Izumi, @Ruelle, @Cirilla an decide here if they would prefer not to participate for personal IC reasons.   |  Honourable mentions: @Haruki who is welcome back at any time their player can, @Chiharu, and @River who if are too busy to participate can be said they were looking after @Kohaku and the territory while everyone else is away

Sachiko returned in a hurry as though her own tail was lit on fire. She had left to follow @Tiberius trail by her own suggestion and the Empress allowed it to show her guard their support in his time of need. So when the new-adult returned in a hurry, panicked and exhausted, her news was soaked up like a dried-up sponge.

A howl rang out through the snow laced peaks to call the Shiroshikans to her. She would mourn this decision but would follow through knowing it was for the best of the pack, and knew that @Ira confirmed the thought within their last meeting. If @Kuhn was seen as a threat, acted like a threat—then he was a threat. With him tired, if not injured, from fighting with the walrus Sachiko saw, then it was now or never.

Hopefully, Ira's warriors would be sent soon to assist. If not, they couldn't wait much longer. The two had already decided they had to move swiftly, so hopefully, that meant her warriors would be sent soon to move with them.

“With recent events a decision had been made about Lord Kuhn's presence in the Tundra.” She would waste no time as soon as the members would filter in. “He and @Valmúa are trying to offer services to our allies in the mountains, and Kuhn has intercepted a messenger we have sent to Vanderfell. It has thankfully resulted in no injuries, however, he is intent on harassing Shiroshika members on neutral lands.” Her eyes would fall onto Gyrfalcon, still thankful that she was okay after her encounter with the tiger.

“It cannot be trusted injuries will never occur. The tension between us, Kuhn and Valmúa is unjust and unwelcomed. In the morning we will ambush Kuhn and put an end to this once and for all.” Taking a seat in front of all who had arrived to the meeting, she scanned the gathering while posing the next question. “Who will fight with me?”

WIth Kthco's permission Sachiko returned on time to share her knowledge from the Boomba thread. This thread is set the morning after Boomba dies. Originally she was not for fairness reasons, but it was stated it would make sense by Kth for her to leave early and share what she learned, and so that thread's knowledge is being used here

After running all night to make it back to Tsukiishi as soon as possible, Sachiko had rested enough and eaten a fair share of the caches before the meeting was called. Thankfully she wasn't really injured from the fight with the walrus. Its main focus was on the other larger threats and so she managed to get away with only a few bruises and tired legs.

When the meeting was called she sat on the wayside. Hoping to sit somewhere near Hotaru as support for both herself and the Princess as she shook with both fear and anticipation of what was to come. The hatred she felt seeing Tiberius join forces with Kuhn and Valmúa still burned wildly in her chest. Tiberius was oblivious to what those two had done to the pack, to the Princess he was supposed to guard.

There was nothing else she had to add to the meeting other than wait for them to move. For them to set up against Kuhn once and for all. She could only hope that the majority of the pack would help, as numbers and an ambush was all they had going for them against such a large and ferocious foe.

A call woke her from her sleep, sleep that was blessedly uninterrupted. Her dark ears perked and then she quickly stirred herself into wakefulness. Exiting the den and wandering over to the meeting place. She would settle in and listen as Reiko began to speak. She recounted the recent events with that bitch of a tiger and she listened along, wondering if something would be done. The answer was "yes", as she informed them that they would be taking the tiger down.

She grinned, pleased at the news. That beast deserved nothing but death. He was dangerous, unpredictable. A definite threat. Perhaps she was a bit biased, but she didn't care. As far as she was concerned this was justice. "I'll help any way I can!" She assured the empress. She wasn't a fighter, hadn't been when she had all of her legs either but she found that she could still move quickly. Even if she didn't help with the actual altercation, perhaps she could be used otherwise. She'd be happy to lay down her life if it meant defending what was theirs from stupid punks.

In the weeks since his return from the foray across the plains, he kept to himself. On quiet patrol watching the borders while others ranged beyond, or oftentimes, occupied on a hunt for small game at least as he worked to restore some of his own lost condition thanks to those unplanned, extended travels south at the tail end of winter.

But with that all behind him, he slipped back in to a typical type of routine, all things considered. A general improvement of his form followed soon after. Days went marching on and he was doing well to guard and hunt on the homefront.

The howl that summoned Shiroshika drew him in with ease, and once he found the empress, he settled in amongst the others to listen. It came as no surprise that it was word about the tundra tiger and his continued harassment. Antares drank this all in with a stoic look, unimpressed to hear about more nuisance cat behavior in the neighborhood. He had always preferred more distance from the felines and didn't care for their sorts on a good day. If this was going to be a continued matter like this, the Ostrega was particularly inclined to agree.

If their empress was tired of this threat looming, then that was it. Reiko already mentioned ambush, and he sensed his worth there. “I will come,” levelly, he offered, wondering who else already.

Im going apeshit right now and its all Noki's fault

"--In the morning we will ambush Kuhn and put an end to this once and for all."

The dove's words made her heart sink, so unpleasantly that she could feel her head begin to spin with the unsteady rhythm in her chest. Izumi wasn't stupid – she knew the day would come when the feud between Shiroshika's wolves and the Everfrost's lord would escalate into something more, but never had she imagined this day would come so fast.
  – and now, it was too late to do anything to prevent it.
Her expression did not falter as she looked upon the Empress, features unchanged in the face of the crowd she mingled in, but there was a look in her eyes only meant for Rei and Rei alone; her breastbone expanding and sinking uncomfortably with each forced breath.
  Fate had failed to make things go as planned, and now the impending tides of what sounded like a war declaration has put both of her friends in grave danger;
  Kuhn,
  Reiko,
  Her pack,
  Her sister,
  Her newborn nephew,
Different sides pulling Izumi in different directions. What could she do to stop this?
The silence in her locked stare did not last for long – as there was no possible way to say nothing. After everything she'd been through with Reiko. After everything she'd been through with Kuhn – her silence was not an option…
"--and this is a fight to the death, isn't it?"
You plan on killing him, don't you?

Gyrfalcon and Antares were the first to speak up, the first to offer their help in the plight for Shiroshika's safety and comfort when under the scrutiny of a dangerous feline roaming beyond their walls... roaming within their walls as borders weren't ever respected by him or his companion. It seemed enough was enough for not just her but others as well.

Pale eyes met the lavender ones of Izumi. She was one of Kuhn's friends along with Tiberius. One of the reasons why she had tried for so long to work with Kuhn and come to a peaceful agreement.

One that never came.

One that Reiko could only blame Kuhn for.

Kuhn for starting it by hunting on their lands and dragging the body back to Valmúa's pack.

Kuhn for aiding Valmúa's harassment when she rummaged through their caches. Without him, Valmúa was a far lesser threat.

“Yes.” She said with no pride. Defeated at the thought that such a horrible decision had to be made, she deflated slightly while seeing the pain in Izumi's own glance. “I take no pride in this. My duty is to keep Shiroshika safe, by any means necessary.”

ehh prob wont get skill points but might count barely for warden/bodyguard stuff

Of course the Princess was one of the first to heed the call as she took her seat beside Sachiko. Whatever the reason for their summoning, she hadn't a clue, but the way her friend shook suggested she knew more than herself. What followed should have come as no surprise to any within the pack. Really this day had been coming...for some time now, but it felt reassuring to see her mother take a stance for once. Even if nothing inherently bad happened in her last meeting with the cat, she still did not trust him. She did not trust those who stood by him. He was a liar or a flake at best.

One by one voices began to call out, offering their strength to end this once and for all, though it was Izumi who questioned it. Questioned just how far they were willing to go to ensure peace... Not once did the thought of dying cross her mind. With their numbers, surely they would come out as the victor. Injury was likely, but that was the price they'd pay for a worthwhile cause, was it not? As her mother confirmed Izumi's suspicions, she too would find her voice. I will join the fray. Surely her mother would protest, but this was something she had been preparing for, perhaps more so than even she. She wasn't a child anymore and royal or not she would not have others spill their blood without lifting a paw herself.

^^Cirilla had been filled in on the news from Charaxes herself about the details that took place that had been the icing on the cake. She, too, heed the calling that their fearless leader had made and took her place aside her lover, listening to those that spoke.

The tiger and his puppy had been trouble for a while now, hadn’t they? Even the princess, whom Cirilla hadn’t seen since her first encounter with the tiger, was there, laying her life on the line with the rest of them. No one, as of yet, opposed this, and being that her love hadn’t either - then Cirilla would follow suit.

If they were to die, then they would die together.

“For Shiroshika!”

^^The noble had known, deep down, that escorting the kitten off their territory would not have been the last of Kuhn - but for a warrior as large as he, to target a cripple of all wolves? Such bad taste, wasn’t it? Won scoffed, shaking out his coat and listening to the chorus of “i do’s” from those loyal to Reiko - which would, of course, include Won himself.

What type of warrior and protector to the empress would he be, if he decided otherwise? It was a death sentence, surely, and also, job security. Reiko’s response to the other about killing the beast caused him to arch his brows, though he would not question Reiko despite really wanting to.

How does one protect the pack by putting them all at risk by going after Kuhn? No matter, there were several of them and one of them (Kuhn) and surely, there would be minimal lives lost, yes? An ear flickered, nodding and stepping forward.

“Anything for you, m’queen, but what of the girl who aides the beast?” Did she desire to send two hunting teams out then? One for the tiger, one for the girl?

Closing this thread off!

There were no objections, no pressing questions either that followed Izumi's. This meant that soon enough they would gather themselves, their bravery for those who were not accustomed to battle, and move forward as a pack, as a family to rid themselves of the oppressor who had brought them nothing but grief these past few months. Together they would be heard as their souls screamed out no more of this harassment brought fourth by Valmúa and her companion, Lord Kuhn. They may seek peace but no longer would they be walked over by a pair who sought nothing but trouble in their wake.

Hotaru spoke of her desire to join them and Reiko couldn't hide the pain it brought her to hear those words. Brows arching downward with concern as she silently pleaded her daughter not to. “I wish you would stay.” Words she was certain would go ignored. Hotaru was a young woman now, no longer listening to every word uttered by her mother no matter how well intended they were.

Won brought up a good question, but not one that wasn't already thought of. “They do not always travel together, but should she be present when we attack Kuhn, she will be dealt with as well. We cannot attack her first without rising suspicion from the larger threat. Splitting off would weaken us as well if Valmúa does not send an alarm to Kuhn.” Their best option was an ambush after all together as one unit, and Kuhn would certainly grow weary and on edge if not enraged should he find out of Valmúa's passing by their fangs. “Should she aid him, there is also a chance she will get in his way - it is a double edged sword for they and us.” Risky, but something they might be able to exploit. “If not, one of us can occupy her while the others focus on Kuhn.”

Essentially, the wolf was the lesser of their problems. One on one with wolves could tip in either way, however they needed as many versus the tiger as they could manage.

“If that is all, I beckon you all to rest well until it is our time to move. Eat, rest, and prepare.” While she would do the same. Dreading the end with every passing second.

There was no time spent to even consider her words. Her mother only stared with that pained expression that made her inwardly wince.

"I wish you would stay."

She wished many things, but Hotaru had long since given up on merely wishing for them to come true. That was the reason they now gathered here was it not? Already words bit at the back of her throat though she did not wish to have the eyes of the pack on her once they surfaced. Resisting the scowl that wished to curl her lips, the princess would only utter her next words under her breath.

It's my home too.

What home would it be then if they all marched off never to be seen again? If she had been left behind, never to be seen again? The pale girl had spent enough time alone and no longer was she so willing to sit quietly and accept what's been given to her.

She would fight for the future she wanted.

With what little there was left to be said, Hotaru waited until they were dismissed. She would be one of the first to go should her mother decide to enforce her wishes, but unsilenced and uncoddled she was left to eat and prepare for what more was to come.
