Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

To the outskirts of Empyrean, did she find the scent of a vulpine, crawling far too close into the territory then anyone's preference. She could tell he was entering in and out, often coming to the nameless mountain birds. She warned, a series of growling that came onto the border and marking — to tell it to shove off. Even a howl, faint for those on the mound to here but enough where surely the fox, who kept drawing here, would head her.

To take life aimlessly was not one she liked — yet he didn't stop. She found him upon the mountain peaks, enjoying that of a carcass of a measly rabbit.. Even after her warnings, growlings to the night to a figure she never seen. Only once though, would she give it, especially since the trail at the time was relatively faint, like a quick escape through but perhaps he became cocky to her warning. She wouldn't hunt him down, but he..

Desdemona came after the vulpine, fangs of fury as it tried to flee from Empyrean growns and into the great wilds, but Desdemona wouldn't let it. It was no wolf, an easy kill for the mistake it take and all on it's own. She knew that the crown of Empyrean wouldn't want it to continue its survival — with a pride that it stole from their land. Teeth scavenging through as she nipped it's backside, a continue lead toward the outside lands and even out of the territory altogether, but she was determined, and did not let go.

Upon its legs were their nicks of her teeth, and she was ready for the pounce, as the fox kept running.

It had been a stroll but it had eventually turned into a hunt as the scent of fox and... Empyrean came to Taurus' nose and unable to squash down his curiosity the bull pressed on. His nose flared as it led his paws to the source, the nearly canine was clearly Empyrean but the fox was most certainly not. The howl was enough to push him on, seeing as she was perhaps warning the fox off but maybe calling for other Empyrean -- he didn't care in the end as to why, he was already on the move. Thick paws pressed down on the ground as his forest-gaze raced around to land upon the Empyrean and the fox and soon they did as the leggy woman nipped at the fox's hind.

Taurus didn't seem to be too urgent in his approach -- he never did anything with urgency, even in urgent situations the man was usually so at ease -- as it was easy to see the dark woman had it at hand as the fox chose to flee instead of fight. They weren't particularly fighters, more cunning and vicious in other ways but had the fox wanted to fight, he thought he might have tried. As to perhaps help strike fear to the fox and let the Empyrean know he was there if needed, Taurus let out a thunderous bark. He continued forward as to join the sleek earthen wolf and joined the fray, long legs carrying him a distance as he snapped his jaws eagerly in their direction.

Her call to ward off the predator was met with another coming to aid. She knew of him — a tall brown man that was much unlike that black tones of an Ostrega, he was someone new, but was not currently familiar with. His scent heavily carried to the other wolves, someone who joined some time ago and it was a shame to say, she was unfamiliar with his name. Yet there was no hesitation to his battle-brawn as he charged through, racing alongside as he barked and snapped to the quarters of the fox.

She nodded to him, and wondered.. If he would get the idea, as slowly did she start to move out in the left side, a distance between herself and the other, and looking at Taurus. Would he get, what she wanted to do? To circle the fox and entrap between their sides, an ending where the fight would be rather quick, and easy if both wolves charged to it's side for a quick snapping, and an endless death.

The fox made some stressful noises that was ignored.

He might be a fella who preferred the more relaxed life but he wasn't slow. Taurus knew how to hunt and he knew strategy, he knew how to read someone, too. So when Desdemona nodded and drifted off to the left side of the fox, Taurus would deliver one last snapping bite towards the Fox from behind and shift his own position so that his mighty form would round on the little beast from the right. His grin was toothy as he sidled up next to the fox and decidedly, the titan would waste no time in lurching towards the fox from the side and attempting to grab onto it's lean shoulder with his saliva glistening teeth.

It would have little place to run with being boxed in from the other side and all they needed to secure more was Desdemona to do something similar.^^
