Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

Slowly he travelled. Picking apart everything he saw, every land, turning every stone he found and questioning everyone he saw - as best as he could with the lack of understanding much of the common tongue shared here... Fengminan did his best with the tools he had.

Feathers flew into the wind as he filled his belly to its absolute capacity. Needing the sustenance and fat to continue on his journey, he would eat until he couldn't do so anymore. White and brown feathers covered the man with splashes of blood and other bits of body parts as he was too much in a hurry to eat with dignity and grace.

Right now he was a man on a mission, not some prince trying to gain an entourage. Unfortunately, these fowls didn't have much fat on them.... mostly blubbery meat that lacked much sustenance but would do well for now if he picked through the roots and whatever other berries he could find for a boost of sugar to help him in his journey.

The black-capped man would stop at nothing, rest for only a short little while before getting ready to move on again... it was the sound of someone approaching that caught his attention. Turning to face whoever it was coming his way. Should he scowl or snarl would be up to the stranger and how they approached him.

It wasn't often the Queen of the Elk crossed the river — it wasn't difficult to say but simply never needed to touch beyond the land. Especially as her litter were so young, she was often to come at the beck and call of their whines and hungers. Yet they grown, ability to roam through Elkshire as they so pleased, and with an abundant of adults — they were young and innocent ; none would let them simply disappear or get harmed. Even from the surprising gladiator, who ushered the smallest of warmth to her daughter Vermillion in a helping of a paw.

So she started to get bolder, wondering through the cold banks. Yet found a stream to cross that didn't travel further up her legs, and mused slightly that surely some elk would cross the streams with this pathway. A shaking of the water droplets, but Celnes's gaze caught sight of something more — it reminded her of the.. Remains, that elk in the Crown at times. Plenty of ruins, origins and buildings that laid in waste throughout, and yet what she saw in the distance seemed so familiar, but complete.

A chicken was heard, a surprising noise to hear and didn't expect to see.. Nor' a wolf, who she saw while emerging from shadowy doorways, a smile upon her face like a devil making a deal, "I wasn't expecting anyone to be here."
