Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

"My dear @Teodora," the Queen sought out the companion, a prowling through the woods to find the beauty through. She seemed almost.. Depressed at times, though a smile always upon her face, the hunched appearance of a saddened being could not be denied by the other. The quietness she held in the forest, and yet always tried her best with the Déorwine mother. Admirable, to say the least — and couldn't help but feel just the slightest displeasure from her cold heart to see such a woman in a sorrowful state.

She was not the best companion to be — keeping most if not all at a distance, especially with too many times being betrayed. She could talk, offer advise to be, find solutions.. But never give herself to the true other. Celnes did like Teodora though, that wasn't a lie, but she always had trouble making friends since family was slowly dwindling. She counted herself sociable, but simply off-putting for some that many didn't approach..

But perhaps she could help Teodora distract herself, as well as to help Elkshire as a whole, "would you care to go on a quest for Elkshire?"

^^

The rare bout of warmth that she had was always spent in the company of the darling boy @Warwick and since she could not hog all the boys attention to herself, Teodora often found herself floating through the forest as if she were a ghost. The maiden looked for something to concern herself with, aside from flowers. She knew she needed to find more of a place here, given the fact she was not eager to leave yet she had been nursing a broken heart and it was so strange for the brown-coated maiden to not easily make friends yet here she was, without any.

She pulled her nose from the flowers as her twisted to the sound of her name being called upon by @Célnes. The long-legged woman angled her frame to catch sight of the Queen as she came forward, a question on her tongue. Curiously she perked up, "a quest, my Queen?" Teodora questioned, eager for clarification. "I aim to be useful," she stated softly as she smiled, "what quest do you have for me, my Queen?" ^^

"My children grow and our numbers grow low.." she so started, a gaze facing outwards to the forest in but a gloss of neutral peace, and an unknown smile hanging to her face, "we have enemies we know not of. We need someone to explore out — to share our name and gain allies and friends, for the sake of Elkshire." There was not the mention of those who remained felt untrusted to, and the Queen only held a few to the thoughts. Teodora was one which she imagined would not betray and looked at the other with a more warmth, a thoughtfulness to the girl and liking to. A rare one, alongside with Calliope — and could not help but think of Remus who no longer had the Queen's favor.

She wanted a replacement for him, if the honesty came — warriors were so needed and desired. She wondered with such a lovely nature, a peaceful smile and warmth of Teodora's face.. Would others be lured to the forests? To away from other packs and know of those who are nearby, gain not only recruits, but possible allies. Some, which she knew, Vengeance was possibly hiding away as she remembered their encounter with Event Horizon.. In the end though it was but just a guess.

"Would you scout for what is beyond our forests?"

^^

Her ghostly gaze turned worried as she nodded, knowing what the Queen said was true. Especially since the departure -- exile, it didn't matter in the end, because they had left all the same with venomous goodbyes. Teodora's darkened ears cuffed backwards as Celnes continued on, toeing past the alluded renegades and pressed on to talk of someone needing to explore, to share the name of Elkshire and to gain friends, perhaps even allies in face of their enemies. It was true, the maiden thought, with the Elkshiran numbers taking hit, it would serve them well to gather allies and friends. Teodora nodded in thought, not quite expecting the ties to be made.

She should have seen it, really, given the words moments before of giving Teo a quest. She blinked, the Queen... trusted her for such a task? Her tongue came to roll against her lips as she gave a soft nod and a vivid smile, a chance to prove herself! To be of use, too, and perhaps... to do more than wallow in her heartbreak. "For you, my Queen, anything." Perhaps she should have said for Elkshire but her loyalty rung true to Celnes in specific. ^^

Some part of her wondered how the others, felt of the banishment — for she knew that their words wisked some away, but not all. What was said to take them far away, and why would the rest remain so? She knew that though Remus most likely had mix feelings, but he was a hard to read man. She wouldn't say otherwise if wasn't for their socialities, due to royal guard duties of their often hanging about. Surely some mixed feelings of once acqnuantices, or even friends, now told to kill and turn if upon their sights. .. Would he follow, through? She couldn't tell.

"Come back safely," Celnes said, a lick to her shoulder in but a grooming comfort, of a good luck, "may the High Elk guide you."

^^

The Queen bid her to return safely, accompanied by a soothing lick, good luck unspoken but heard. "Please be safe in my absence," Teodora murmured softly before she smiled, warm and encouraging. She would do this for Celnes, happily, willingly and she would return with success. The maiden dipped her head with respect before she would take her leave, lithe legs carrying her through the forest. ^^
