Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported

AW, tagging @Krakarak just in case ♡

rare was it that the godspear lofted away from the claim of his father; but even he was wont to venture, after keeping to northfall's reaches as he had for most of his moons here. so down the shore he went; went, and wandered further and farther along, following the shoreline and staying well out of the way of the choppy, grasping push-pull of the sea. if the wing of ragnar had been sent after him, he wouldn't have minded, of course; two pairs of eyes, high and low, ought to be much better than his alone — especially as his treading along the halcyon beach brought him to a place where the teeth of the world thrust up from the bowels of the earth.

presently, he can hear nothing and no other over the foaming collision of blue-gray waves, and nor could he scent so well over the stench of brine; but it didn't stop the yearling from nearing ever closer to the paths-strewn foothills of it all, wondering at all that might be hidden within these ancient spires.

as far as he knew ( which was very little ) all life had deserted from here, as if it had never been.

There was a uniqueness that came from the serpentine rocks. Jagged along the shore, hideously scarring away those who tempted by so lands. Though, there was a sanctuary within it's fearsome stead, a home within the midst of all, a centerfold where she had decided to claim. At times it wasn't easy to spot, nor' enter so. It wasn't common for the path to reveal itself, and even then, the surface was always coated by the calm waters - only seen if searched well enough.

Soaked in blue paws, did she travel the rigged pathway toward the shore ahead ; beastly as it was, it brought forth a good hunting ground that it was. Calming, to hear the crashing waves, and the occasional seagull cry that rung in the sky. She couldn't help put a bit of a skip in her step, until the sighting of a golden pledge along her shore.

"A boy shouldn't be wandering in someone elses lands," ah but a warning, for she knew her marks were not of perfection. What could two wolves do to a land, only recently staking their desire? A tail flickered high, a dominating pose with but a devilish smile to her face. It may almost seem she was waking on water, if it were not for the stoney path, that led the blue dragon toward the beach he roamed on.

It was not @Krakarak which followed at least, not yet to her knowledge. Sindri followed her boy, her only now to have and to hold. Already far larger then she, he matched the might as his blood-mother before him. Swift as her namesake she was given, Sindri follows unto the beaches which the mountains of their home edged and out south along the waters where out to sea out came the black rocks.

She would find her boy there, curiously looking onward with a footing to try and make way towards the sea beast's backside. But there, within the shallows stood a tall woman of northern blues and silvers. And she made herself stand tall too, of proud dominance for a claim she decided to call her own.

“And a woman should not find herself foolish enough to lay claim sided along another's home.” It was rude, for one, arrogant and selfish. To Sindri, she had derespected the family which lived near. There would be no missing the chain of mountains which lined the oceanside to the north. The beaches there were Northfall's own and this stretch here, just south.

“Go then to your home,” She juts her creamy muzzle to the black rocks behind the woman. “made on the backside of a beast laid to rest.”

there were many things since the arrival of his family that did not faze the yearling; over the stench of brine he had, truthfully, not scented a whiff of the borders that he was being led to believe had to do with claimed land. he said nothing in return, yet; had no riposte ready on his lips as the salthroned tread through her shallows his way. a brow heavied with a wary outlook on these moons creases in thought: were not her lands those beyond, amongst the shoal and wave, and not this strip of dark sand that the pair inevitably converged upon? the logic here set itself simple within his mind  —  if the beach was what she wished for, then why not stake claim to a place more ashore?

had his recently-returned mother not shown herself then, he might have spun his trail of thinking into words. asgeir had been slow to realize that the crestqueen had, indeed, chosen the spider behind her and the sands they all walked, now, as ones that lay a bit too close to where his father had chosen their collective seat. he could not fault the words of his mother, though, a boy's bias or no: there was truth to it that he had not initially considered.

for now, he remains silent;
and, if soon need be, a shield.

"You claim nothing, not a smell or another to your name." She stepped forward, a child and a mother wondering close to a land that held not of their scent. Upon arriving to this place that called her, there was an awareness of many packs that claimed to the mountains, and yet, she smelled no one near these rocks and beach. A smile of arrogance, and a head tipped up with the slightest chuckle following forth. Though she was no behemoth of the waters, Vendrussel had been trained within northern shores - she felt if needed, a defense would be taken against those who try to claim the rocks.

Only though, wasn't expecting it as soonly, "Leave or gain enemies." Vendrussel demanded with a light warning, though the land was still to be marked by herself, there was still few to the land itself. She had yet to form a battle-ready posture, a diplomacy at firstly for personally the dragon did not desire to fight purely for so, and yet didn't like the woman who dared say it wasn't her home.

Because midnight posts why not...

She was keenly aware of the silence of her pup though kept her focus locked upon the stranger to their front, standing out upon the waterlogged lands that reached the islands out. The rise of her crown, the laugh which she then gave was a bit too much to keep silent and it was made so clear by the growl that seeped between her lips.

stygg tispe...! She hissed the curse through clenched teeth which bared silently in warning to the other woman. Legs bending, she lowered and centered herself, ready to spring forward or to dodge. “Do not take another step closer to my son or i promise you, enemies is exactly what you'll have.”

Whatever diplomacy this woman thought she was giving, didn't exist.

"Then you have gained foes." The other had threatened her, upon her own land! When she growled and lowered herself, Vendrussel held her head high and body up. Instead raised her head, and called forth those of the Dragonford. Though there was only a few to their name, she would think that a threaten of her howl would show she meant so. A warning, and a true calling to @Kei and @Monarch if they were so to come.

She was not pleased by this development, especially being threatened upon her own land, for those who entered. An insolent child, and a mother who thought she had the galls to even threaten so. At the moment, she now called forth to them as enemies.

The shade had been walking the shores when she heard the call. This land had been nothing but loud since they settled, the footfalls of others drowning out the wake as borders were ignored time after time again. It was amazing to her how a few miles north made all the difference in respect when there had been no trouble in the redwoods. This time would be different though, no longer just a nuisance but a call to arms.

Kei wasted no time to respond with her own call, paws racing to the source to aid her friend. Vendrussel hadn't sounded like she was in trouble, but she had still called for everyone. When she arrived it was a woman and child that greeted her view. Her eyes only lingered for a moment on the boy before she found the woman's gaze. She wouldn't speak, but that wouldn't stop her questions. There was a familiar scent on the breeze, but the two that challenged them would remain unknown.

She had no plans to hurt a child if they were refusing to leave, but a stubborn ignorant woman should know better than to cross into marked lands. So she watched and she waited, a newfound serpent ready to strike at the given word.

A woman with nothing to live for but herself, would have lunged directly at the other in that moment. She held herself high, lifted up her head and called to arms, exposing every once of her throat beneath. A fool, as ever the shield maiden had seen. Alas a side glance was cast to her son, her only son and it was for the sake of his own safety she did not charge. Even when she had such great opportunity to do so!

Still, Vendrussel did not step closer. Whether this was purposefully or not, Sindri considered it another reason not to risk themselves. After all, the other woman called upon her others. “And a coward too, I see.” She spat. She needed such backup to remove a woman smaller then she and her yearling pup. It proved how little strength she had in herself and so, relied on which she had rallied.

One had come. Sindri passed her a glance, though turned her muzzle away, to pin point it to grasp he son's attention. “Come, son. A graveyard isn't much worth the fight.” And she'd leave, too, yet only after she was certain her young boy was out of harm's reach.

She remained silent, for it was but words of ploy and anger that the other through. She couldn't back them up, for even if she challenged her own land, instead of fighting she chose to insult and flee. It brought but a calmness to Vendrussel, as she gave a thankful look toward Kei in particular concerning it. Troublesome, as it was, it was better to intimidate with numbers then to try and spill blood with that of a child nearby - a foolish one at that, and the next time though, she knew mercy should not be close.

"We must make sure they leave the beach," and followed their trail behind, making sure that they left.

Shortly after her arrival did the other woman decide to turn tail and leave with petty insults. How many times would they come to taunt them she wondered before they regretted the blood they'd spill? The mountains were large, and they, reclusive. It would be the other's ambitions that grew too hungry to be satisfied and eventually bite them in the ass when peace could be made.

It only grated on her the same as others did from the Order's protection. Nothing here was new, just selfish wolves who knew no bounds. Kei glanced to Venny as she addressed her once the intruders had turned away and gave a nod in acknowledgment. It would be better to follow her out just in case they tried something stupid.
