Bug: Tagging not working?

Description of Bug

I’ve been tagged in several threads and haven’t gotten any alerts or anything letting me know. I know both Meebee and Rhys started threads for myself and Sonia and tagged Persephone and Hades and neither myself or Sonia got alerts. I also know a few other people had trouble with this (attached screenshot).

I know that the plugin we are using, MentionMe, has problems when people edit their posts and add in tags. If I cannot reproduce the problem reliably, I can't fix it. I will look into reproduction of this.

What would be helpful from others is the following, though I will do it if no one can figure it out:
What are the steps to reproduce?

• Does it occur when you post a new reply?
  
• Does it occur when you post a new reply from a draft?
  
• Does it occur when you post a new topic?
  
• Does it occur when you post a new topic from a draft?
  
• Does it occur when you are tagging people who are using display names?
  
• Does it occur when you tag people without quotes?
  
• Does it always occur for certain characters?
  

If you can figure out how to reproduce this, it will make things a million times easier to find a fix. If not, that's okay. I will experiment and figure it out.

To see if the tag had been added after initial posting but it hadn’t. That post hasn’t been edited at all so that was a new thread, tags made at time of initial post.

Tagging did not work with this thread and this character I'm posting with, thought I'd share cause I know its been a bug but I dont know if ya peeps thought it was fixed or not. Apologies for not being more helpful. Just know the post wasn't edited and hadn't had problems before with this character and tags.
