Their numbers had been growing lately, he knew as much even without seeing their faces. They all smelled fresh, something that would likely change with their time in the shrouded woods. Part of him found a spark of joy at the idea of messin' with them, but he saved that thought for later. He needed to brew some ideas there first.

So he walked. Even as the now-familiar smells of his forest faded he would keep walking, watching as the land changed with so little distance. This place was fuckin' weird, but it wasn't like he ever planned to figure it out so it mattered little. At some point, the familiar green of trees shifted rather suddenly.

Red hung like vines, bright and beautiful though for the fireborn he saw it much like weeping entrails. The faint smell of others tickled his nose, a reminder that others came here, though he knew their allies laid to the south so he paid little mind.

She felt ripe, days went by and her stomach continued to enlarge, but she didn't feel any movement yet. She couldn't know where her due date was either, especially as the growth seemed never-ending and yet she couldn't see any end to it. How long had other mothers took time to give birth? She didn't even remember her mothers term, as the woman simply stayed within the den, uncaring around. Dearest uncle would visit her though, and spirits would be lifted - as long as Célnes and her brother were not around.

She found comfort within the red leaves. Like a blanket or a carpet for her throne, the petals of red danced to the floor and scurried the ground. A dash of rotten apples though as well, but some taken away as a elk would scoop one up before disappearing back into The Elk's Crown. She enjoyed feeling the wysteria branches swipe against her side, the comfort of the soft flowers wisping against her, her fur intertwining with her fur, some staying within, and others simply dropping to the floor.

Perhaps the Queen would enjoy it more if she was alone, with the comfort of familiar ungulates and the occasional sweep of a packmate strolling by.. Yet the smell, was a mixture of familiarity and non ; a Night Walker within the woods. She was somewhat irked that they strolled in like it was nothing, no warning to a hello or a simple meeting, but just a walk in.. Like they owned the place. Her patience to this gradually was growing thin, and the next time she saw the Boogeyman, the pregnant woman would not stray away from pointing out the rather rude entrances.

"It is polite to ask to enter another packs land," she so said, with a cold smile. Though despite the nobleness of what she tried to present, for the Queen who was so round and had trouble walking as she staggered - it more looked like a newborn male fawn, trying to be impressive.

He had traveled knowing past borders, though he knew better than to walk all the way to the heart. It was just a peak after all, no harm done, right? He had heard before not to hunt the elk here, still a strange rule, but he could only assume their allies were hoarding them for something. Aries had stopped at some point, his attention turned to the hanging flowers when he heard the shaking of branches and heavy steps of another approach.

Originally he might have thought it a man, but when he was addressed a woman called out and it was not until he turned that he saw the reason for her loud steps. She was a bitch, swelling with the life of some poor sod's children. He would have laughed had he not recognized her. And to think I'd be greeted by the Queen herself! Truly, an honor. While it may have been overplayed to him, the fireborn still bowed graciously.

I thought your claim was further south. A half-lie. He had traveled to the heart before, though he could smell the frequency of which they visited these parts. To think her borders truly extended so far. How was she to know that he knew better though? He was no better than she, anyone could make a mistake.

Nearly beloved, but not exactly at the level a Déorwine would prefer. Gold and orange, the sun itself with a blazing blood through his look. A savage - she could crudely describe the man despite him bowing appropriately. She couldn't deny though appearance may be barbaric, he was polite, tickling the pride she held as a Queen. Yet, as he was a Night Walker, she should not be fooled as easily, simply finding him more admirable, compared most of their wolves. She would prefer if Vengeance substitute him for the white general.

"Vengeance seemed to claim the northern forests, while I hope for the south. Alas, there is another far more east from here." She sat down while approaching him, her paws minorly hurting and sides be sore. A gaze watching him out of curiosity.

The fireborn ran his tongue along his teeth as the elk queen spoke. He wasn't getting bitched at so it seemed his little fib worked. Even as allies he doubted Vengeance would rest with the northern woods. One day it would all belong to them, numbers pending of course. Compared to the dank woods they had been confined to, the ones here held more color with flowers that hung in drapes. Now Vengeance wasn't exactly a man looking for beauty, that much was clear by his pelt, but beauty did bring opportunity.

Prey, women, maybe a place to raise children. Even the fruits that bore from short limbs would be a perk, if not to a wolf directly than to something that would be. Something he was sure the warlord would come to learn if he wished to expand further. Not everyone was willing to live around a skunk hole. Aries's ears would perk as Celnes mentioned another pack, somewhere along the southern woods that encroached on her desired land. To his knowledge, they had been the only two with claims. What do you plan to do then? Pack or not, if she wanted it she should take it.

Though while she would desire this man to be that of a higher ranking then the other - he was not. She was unaware he even was a trusted man amongst Vengeance's crew, and thus, didn't desire to reveal too much. Though there wasn't much to say on the matter, "Leave them be, for the current time." Her gaze swept passed to the direction, her neck craning toward the southern land. She didn't have any qualms with them, as they are generally a pack who seemingly kept to themselves and their.. Strange kind.

However, the Queen couldn't deny she held a slight desire to perhaps chase them out, so her greedy side claims. She wasn't a warlord like Nightwalkers were, nor' a barbarian who would simply do so out of power. She would need an appropriate reason, to officially qualify their removal. To satisfy her own common desires as well as the peaceful members of Elkshire, she could not act recklessly, and be out of loyalty from those who pledged to her.

"Does the Warlord desire more then the land he currently claims?" Not that she minded, but she would inquire where to exactly, as to not interlude on each others claim.

So she would leave them alone. Probably a smart move if you don't know much about the neighbors, but it was a disappointment to the man who wanted to see some action. Then again, there was a chance he wouldn't see the chase even if she did choose to force the others out. Aries noticed the shift in her gaze and instinctively followed though all he saw was more trees and bushes. If he had to harbor a guess he could follow the direction to her little friends.

Hell if I know. Vengeance isn't exactly someone you sit around and get fat with. All I know is he wants the woods. However much of that land was up in the air, though he probably knew better than to go stealing land from their allies. Honestly, he didn't really give much direction to the rest of the pack other than keep stocks full and strangers off the land unless they were to join them. Or maybe he had simply just missed the memo.

As he always was, a man who always seemed to be doing something, one way or another. She could only shrug at the man who used language that seemed more familiar now from a Nightwalker then any previous 'polite' speech, "They are known as The Pantheon. Odd bunch, very.. Soft." Though her voice drawled, assuming the man understand she didn't mean it nicely.. They were weak, in nature and spirit. Polite as they were, as she knew of Hades and Poseidon, and even Styx herself, all of them seemed weak to the bone, and moreso if their Queen were to ever be injured. She was dainty, small and fragile.. An easy picking.

"Have any settled by the Nightwalkers?" she inquired if any even attempted to do so. She could imagine they would not be well with that factor.

The fire man's tongue flicked out between his teeth with a snort as the Queen continued offering her generous information. Soft and cozy, what most likely sought in a pack though the idea personally bored him. If the Queen's words were true though they won't last another day in these woods once either Vengenace or Celnes decided they had enough of their claim and sought...something more. And yet you don't take. Sounds like easy pickin's or at least free meals. If they were so soft he doubted they lacked the bark to keep their meat.

None come near unless they're joinin'. One way another. Rather they really wanted to or not was another question, but one day they'd all come to appreciate how good they had it. After all, if Vengeance could get him to settle in any place, then the others would take to the woods no time. Although, if they resisted he wouldn't have any complaints either. All the more fun to deal with them when they're being a smartass.

Safe information that was to be given to the man of Nightwalkers, would most likely slip into Vengeance's ears. The location of them was a simple task to toss off, and a rather neutral meeting that came from the bunch. A King and Queen, and the Elkshire Queen, assumed them to be mates. She didn't know they were not in one, as generally her thoughtline two who rule, were either related, or mated; and none in the mixture. However..

"Their numbers are unknown, too many risks for the thought. Too risky, for the months," an indication she would not move during her pregnancy. Though, a part of her would not mind on later dates to join paws with the boogeyman, taking over the peaceful pack in the corner. She licked her maw in the thought of simply ripping away their beloved land. It seemed they were the only other one around.

The fire man simply shrugged his shoulders, rolling them back smoothly with the utmost "Suit yourself whatever" energy one could muster. Maybe it would be seen as rude, but he wasn't here to tell the woman what to do. Do what you're gonna. I'm sure Veng will lend a hand if we're needed.

Maybe he'd even be generous enough to help if the warlord didn't. It all depended on the day and his mood really. Anyways, I'll get outta ya fur. Seems I wandered too far anyhow. His tail gave a single lash behind him, more so impatient to wait around for pleasantries and goodbyes, but he would just in case the queen had anything else to add before he went.

A bird rung over their head, flying above the canopies of the wisterias, perhaps it had feasted on an apple before hearing their convo, feeling spooked near the end. Her paws ontop of a flowing petal, red as it was, the harder her foot went in the ground, she could feel the juices onto her pawpads. So familiar though, just like the path she paved through blood and tears - the falling of dearest family to give the power she desired. Though despite all that, died and became anew, she new ruled this beautiful forest. Apples and reds, sometimes of white like winter, to turn to ripeful fruit to devour.

The Queen would never give it up.

"Farwell, fireborn of the Nightwalkers."
