a prodigal product of salt and iron will. yara is tall for her sex, but not for her lineage — the ironborn are a towering folk, forged through raw prowess and an undiminished athleticism. due to a rather brawl-heavy and male-dominated culture, she has grown into her brawny physique and sports the toned muscle and tolerance built for railing against a raging sea. as a result, she comes off as very rough around the edges and unapologetic for her way of life. yara does not have a vain bone in her body, despite her crow's inclination to braid longer clumps of fur around her neck and shoulders. a medium-sized scar decorates her upper-left shoulder, courtesy of the cousin she killed to take her father's position in ironborn hierarchy. no fur will ever grow in its place. yara's coat is rarely properly groomed and never completely without tangles, despite being relatively clean. appearance does not matter to her — only courage, power, and loyalty.
