At 5 months old, Amaya is still more paws and ears than wolf. The lean, sharp lines of her shoulders and hips suggest that she has been on her own for longer than is strictly healthy. Her fur is a mass of coal black, steel, silver, and white, the colors broken up by the browns and greens of the foliage that has entangled itself in the thick, wiry pelt. Pale hazel eyes add a pop of color to an otherwise monochromatic palette. The pup prances more than walks, her gait full of optimistic energy despite the precarious position she finds herself in.
