Hesitant, cautious, generally empathetic and kind but not at the expense of herself or what she cares about. Very much the image of 'once bitten, twice shy.' Prefers her own company to that of others for the most part, but when she does engage with someone they will quickly learn of her passion for all things growing. She cannot help but be friendly and reach out to others when they give her the opportunity, yet constantly seems to feel that those interactions are going to bring her pain.
— Despite her cataracts, Via is not fully blind--she has no central or focusing vision, but her peripheral vision works fine. Depth perception and detail from a mid to far range are difficult for her to make out, but in a short range she can sort of work around that to see some details she would miss otherwise. Nonetheless, she prefers not to venture out into unfamiliar territory when it's dark.
— When she's hungry or very excited, her pupils dilate wide enough to be seen around the cataracts, almost completely consuming the iris, which she's been told makes the sight of her eyes uncomfortable for others.
— Via's cataracts would be known as lamellar or zonular cataracts in a higher medical setting. They are a hereditary cataract that form most often before full maturity, and are known to be bilateral and asymmetrical.
