Ethiopian wolf?

I want to make a character that's an Ethiopian wolf, and I was wondering if an Ethiopian wolf would count as a wolf or as a creature? I just want to make sure I pick the right option when registering ^^

Being that the Ethiopian wolf is more closely related to the grey wolf and the coyote than to any African canid, they would count as wolves!
